DEAR FELLOW MEMBERS….. As you can tell it’s that time of the year again, Winter & Spring Newsletter Time.  Included in the newsletter are tickets for Jan. Block Shoot & Meat Raffle, Feb. Block Shoot & Surf & Turf Raffle, and March Block Shoot & Fishing Raffle.  Also included in the package are your Children’s Easter Party registration form, and your 2009 Membership renewal form.. 2009 CLUB OFFICERS:  The Officers for 2009 are as follows. Pres. Garry Cregger, V-Pres. Herb Santee, Recording Sec. Herb Eiden, Financial Sec. & Treas. Michael Kiss. Board of Directors Lou Bronko, Donald Gaston, Mildred Eiden, Dennis Kressley, Tim Haldaman.

 

CLUB MEETINGS:  Club meetings are held on the 2nd (general meeting) and 4th (officers & committee) Tuesday of each month.  The Meetings start at 7pm.  If you don’t like the way the club is run, here is your chance to change it.  So get involved and try to attend your club meetings.

 

BLOCK SHOOTS:  Our Block Shoots will start up for 2009 on Jan. 11 at 12 noon till 5pm.  The next one after that will be Feb. 8 and then Mar. 8.  We hold the shoots on the 2nd Sunday of the month.  The doors open at 11am, registration starts at 11:30am.  The cost of the shoot is $2.00 per shot: we shoot for Meat Pkgs. Hams, Pork Loins, Seafood and Money. We supply the shells 12 ga. only.  There is a limit on the barrel length, we try to keep it fair to all.  We also have a Club gun if you don’t have a shotgun of your own.  The kitchen will be open the day of the shoots, and also we will have raffles all day for those that don’t shoot.  For info call (610)767-8004.

 

RIFLE RANGE:  The rifle range is for MEMBERS ONLY… No Guests Allowed on or at the range.  Non-Members will be prosecuted and members responsible will bet terminated as a member.  The 25 yd. target is for handguns or 22 cal rifles only.  Read the rules posted at the range and don’t forget you need your membership card to use the range.  Hang your card while using the range, and most of all be safe.

 

GAME REPORT: Remember to turn in your Pa. Shot Buck for a club trophy for the largest buck.  We will no longer have the buck pool itself, just a trophy for the largest buck.

 

LADIES AUXILARY:  They hold their monthly meetings on the first Wed of the month at 7pm.  The club is not only for men, but also for women.  They are responsible for the children’s Christmas and Easter parties.  So wives, girlfriends of the male members, or just ladies in general, come out and join us.  For info call (610)-767-4718.

 

PA HUNTER EDUCATION: The Club will be holding the Pa. Hunter Trapper Education Course this year on Fri. July 24 from 6-9 pm and Sat July 25 from 8am-4pm.  If you would like info contact Garry Cregger (570)620-5530, you must register for the course on the Pa. Game Commission Web Site, class size is limited.  Also, if anyone is interested in becoming an instructor or just would like to help out contact Garry.

 

EASTER EGG HUNT & PARTY: We will be having the egg hunt and party on April 5th at 2pm.  Registration form for children ages 0-10 is included with this letter, the egg hunt is for both young and older children, after the younger children hunt eggs, we have an egg hunt for the older children 10 and up. 2009 MEMBERSHIP:  Your 2009 Membership Dues are coming up for renewal by March 31st.  The fees for 2009 are as follows… New Adult $30… New Jr. Under 16 years of age $10 (Jrs. Under 5 are free if parent is a Member).  Renewal fees are Adult renewal $25… If you purchase the $11 of tickets enclosed your renewal is $16 only…that is $27 total for Adult renewal and tickets.  Jr. renewal is $6 for members under 16, and Jrs. under 5 are free if parent is a member, if parent isn’t a member then under 5 are considered regular Jr. member.  Please Note: newsletters were only sent to adult members, if you need to renew others write info on separate piece of paper.  Additional membership forms can be printed from the first page of the Club web site.  Also in you are renewing by mail please include a self addressed stamped envelope to have your new cards sent back to you, otherwise membership will not be processed.  If you have any questions abut membership please contact Herb Eiden (610)767-8004.

 

LAKE REPORT:  Herb Santee will take over as lake Chairman for 2009.  There are a few changes that will take place this year, 1st the fish will be coming from Getz Farms.. most of you will agree that the fish were nicer and bigger, 2nd the size of the fish will be larger on regular stocking dates, 3rd we will be stocking every weekend, 4th to keep fees the same we will have a 3 fish limit, 5th the contest will be 2 weeks long with Juniors fishing Saturday the first day of the contest from 9 am to 12 noon then the lake is open to all contest tag members, adults and juniors for 2 weeks.  The 2009 stocking dates are, opening day April 11, April 18 & 25, May 2 thru 15 Contest.  The contest ends May 15 at 5pm.  On May 9th we will be hosting A Day at the Lake from 9am to 4pm. The lake opens back up to members at 4pm.  The rest of the dates for stockings are May 16 & 23.  Please Note fish will be put in on Friday evenings around 5pm the day before.  Also we will be hosting the IU #21 on May 12 around 10am.

 

HALL RENTAL: The Club’s hall is available for all your needs, Weddings, Showers, Birthdays, Anniversaries, or just a Family Get Together.  Catering is available or you can bring your own food, the hall has air conditioning for those hot summer days.  So if you need a place to hold your function, give us a call, book early, we are already taking reservations for 2009 & 2010.  Call Herb at (610)767-9673 for hall rental.

 

RAFFLES: Enclosed in this letter you received tickets for the upcoming raffles, Jan 11, Feb. 8 for meat raffles and Mar 9 for a Ham & Fishing Raffle.  As stated in past newsletters your dues don’t cover the cost to operate the Club.  We need the extra income to keep the cost down, so buy the tickets enclosed or try to sell them, if you need more contact the club.  By purchasing thickets enclosed you can save on your membership renewal fees.

 

ARCHERY REPORT: This year was the best year by far.  We took 1st place in team competition in Blue Mt League shoots.  The team trophy is in the trophy case with the names of the shooters who represented the Club.  Kim Bosper was the high shooter for the Club.  Tim Haldaman took 1st, in hunter Class A and Brian Henkle took 3rd in hunter class C.  The Wed night shoots went well this year also.  A special than you to Peak Performance Archery for his sponsorship and Don Zellner for his monetary donation.  The archery committee will meet over the winter and come up with next years schedule.  If anyone wishes to help please call Tim Haldaman (610)767-9557 or Ken Bailey (610)767-5997.  Thank You to all who participated and helped.

 

CLUB PICNIC: We will be planning our annual summer picnic clambake.  Anyone wishing to get on the planning committee or to make suggestions contact Garry (570)620-5530.  The date for this year will be June 20th.  Check the bulletin board or web page for more info as we get closer.  The deadline to sign up is June 1st.

 

In closing we would like to thank everyone that came out and supported the club, and we hope you will continue to support your club in the future.  We are always looking for people to help out at functions or events.  So if you have some extra time in your schedule please don’t be afraid to lend a hand.  Thanks for your support.
